Two people in Oklahoma died in a workplace accident involving a crane, officials told news outlets.

Authorities were called to Sooner Coating in Catoosa around 7 a.m. Dec. 6 for reports of an industrial accident, the Tulsa Fire Department said, according to KJRH.

The morning crew coming into work found the two men, who had been working overnight, dead, firefighters said, according to KTUL.

The men were using a crane system when they were pinned under a sheet of metal, Andy Little with the Tulsa Fire Department told KOTV.

“It appears that the materials they were working with shifted in some manner, trapping them in,” Little told the news outlet.

Little told KJRH the accident became fatal sometime over the night.

Officials have not released the names of the men.

McClatchy News reached out to Sooner Coating for comment but was unable to get in touch with anyone.

Catoosa is about a 15-mile drive east of Tulsa.
